Senior (2008-09): Posted a 7-14 overall record while spending the majority of his time at the No. 2 position...recorded a 9-9 overall doubles record, while tabbing a 9-3 mark when partnered with Sherif Hamdy...for their efforts the pair was named to the West Coast Conference Honorable Mention Team for doubles, finishing with a 5-2 record against conference opponents...the pair won the only match they played at the No. 1 spot, and were 6-3 and 2-0 on courts two and three respectively...midway through the season the duo went on a four match win-streak, including victories over Loyola Marymount (2/21/09), No. 5 Stanford, UC Davis, and Santa Clara (3/6/09)...best individual match came against No. 53 San Diego’s Charl Wolmarans on January 30, topping the Torero 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 while playing at the No. 2 position.
Earned his second conference honor as a junior, being named to the
All-WCC Honorable Mention team for doubles, along with partner Marek
Dvorak...Christner and Dvorak posted an 8-4 overall record and 4-2
mark against WCC opponents at the No. 2 position... named to the CoSIDA
Academic All-District Eight First Team following his stellar academic
and athletic achievements, accumulated a 3.98 GPA while majoring in
Business Administration with a concentration on finance...also named to
the WCC Spring All-Academic Team...finished with an 11-10 overall
singles record and 10-11 record in doubles...won two consecutive
singles and doubles matches in the WCC Championship, helping the Gaels
to the championship match for the first time in program
history...defeated Portland’s Evan Schleining 6-3, 6-3 in the first
round, and then went on to knock out San Diego’s Chris Coetez, 7-5, 6-2
in the semifinals.
Sophomore (2006-2007): Went 8-9 from the No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 positions in singles, including a 4-4 record against WCC opponents...teamed up with Yury Platanov, Joel Kusnierz, Andre Sion and Alp Ozpinar to post a 5-9 doubles record from the No. 1, 2 and 3 positions.
Freshman (2005-06): Was named to the All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention Team for Singles as a freshman...along with teammate Yury Plantonov, was named to the All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention Team for Doubles...posted a 15-5 record from the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions, including a 4-0 record from the No. 4 spot and a 10-5 record from the No. 5 spot...his 15 wins led the Gaels...went 6-2 in conference play...won his last eight matches of the season...teamed up with Plantanov and Alp Ozpinar to post an 11-7 doubles record, including an 11-6 record with Plantonov...his 11 doubles wins were the most on the team.
High School: Comes to Saint Mary's from Holzelfingen, Germany where he held a German ranking of 300.
