Men's Basketball Games For 2010-11 Season On KFRC 1550 AM

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's College Department of Athletics announced today that men’s basketball games for the 2010-11 season will be broadcasted over the commercial airwaves on KFRC 1550 AM. Saint Mary’s has partnered with MB Broadcasting to create a package that will have the Gaels on commercial radio for a majority of the upcoming season.


“KFRC AM 1550 is excited to broadcast the games of the reigning West Coast Conference Tournament champions throughout another winning season,” said Doug Harvill, Sr. VP & Market Manager for KFRC


Mike Bouve, the voice of Saint Mary’s basketball for the past seven seasons, will serve as the play-by-play announcer for a minimum of 29 games during the season.


“We’re excited that our fans will be able to follow the team on KFRC,” said Director of Athletics Mark Orr. “We look forward to the partnership between Saint Mary’s and KFRC and were excited to have Mike Bouve calling every game throughout the season.”


KFRC 1550 AM is a radio station in San Francisco, owned by CBS Radio. KFRC features an oldies music format, featuring the syndicated True Oldies Channel feed, and is the radio home for the Oakland Raiders. KFRC transmits a 10,000-watt signal by day, reaching 11 Bay Area counties. The night signal, which will apply to the majority of the Saint Mary's games, reaches most parts of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, and Solano Counties.


The first broadcast of the season on KFRC will be on Monday, Nov. 15 when the Gaels take on the St. John’s Red Storm, in the ESPN Tip-off Marathon at 11 p.m. from McKeon Pavilion. SMC’s season opener on Nov. 12 against College of Idaho will be broadcast on the Internet only through 


All but two games will air live on KFRC. The Internet only broadcast include the College of Idaho and the final game of the South Padre Island Classic on Nov. 27, against either BYU or South Florida.
