PORTLAND, Ore. - Saint Mary's senior shortstop Rebecca Sabatini has been named the Pacific Coast Softball Conference Coastal Division Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday. This is the first PCSC Player of the Week honor of Sabatini's career and the fourth PCSC award for the Gaels this season.

Sabatini finished the week with a .778 batting average after going 14-for-18 in five games. The Livermore, Calif. native had two doubles, a home run, six RBI and seven runs scored to give her a 1.056 slugging percentage. The senior also earned two walks to give her an .800 on base percentage.

Sabatini was solid at the plate in every game of the week, with three hits in the first four games and two in the final game of the week.

In the first game of the week against No. 1 California, Sabatini had a 3-for-3 day with three singles against the Golden Bears.

Sabatini was 3-for-4 in each of the first two games of the Bakersfield series, and then went 3-for-3 with a home run in game three. In the final game of the series, the senior went 2-for-4 with a double to finish her spectacular weekend and help the Gaels sweep the Roadrunners.

Saint Mary's will return to action this weekend with another PCSC road series against Santa Clara. The Gaels and Broncos will play doubleheaders on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22.
