SAN BRUNO, Calif. - For the first time in program history, every Saint Mary's men's basketball game against its West Coast Conference rivals will be televised.

In a ground-breaking announcement by the WCC, the league announced its 2013 television schedule that included all 16 games involving the Gaels. In addition. 14 of the Gaels' 16 league games will be televised live internationally, specifically on ESPN networks in Australia.

The league announced that nearly 85 percent of this year's conference games (up to 61 of 72) will be televised on a national, regional, or local level. The remaining 11 contests will be produced at television quality on a digital platform.  In addition, as part of its new partnership with Time Warner Cable Sports, a West Coast Conference Game of the Week and weekly half hour WCC basketball show will air throughout the conference's footprint of almost 20 million homes each Saturday.

Fifteen West Coast Conference regular season games will be broadcast on the ESPN Networks and an additional 44 to 46 games will be aired in the markets of both competing teams through conference and school partnerships with Time Warner Cable Sports, Comcast SportsNet, ROOT Sports and BYUtv - along with the new West Coast Conference Game of the Week.

"With the success our teams have had on the court, the West Coast Conference is proud to boast one of the top men's basketball television packages in the country," WCC Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich said. "Fans of top quality basketball throughout the region and the country can look forward to seeing more West Coast Conference basketball than ever before."

As part of the West Coast Conference's new long-term deal with Time Warner Cable Sports, Time Warner Cable SportsNet will produce and air a West Coast Conference Game of the Week each Saturday during WCC play.  The Game of the Week will be distributed to television partners throughout the WCC footprint - up to 20 million homes in all.  The games will also be available to WCC fans everywhere on a digital platform.  Time Warner Cable Sports will also produce a weekly half-hour show dedicated to WCC sports during the men's basketball season, and will produce selected other WCC events as well.

In addition, the West Coast Conference is partnering with other regional and national outlets including Comcast SportsNet, ROOT Sports, and BYUtv to create a 35-game regional syndication package. Most games will be broadcast live in the markets of both participating teams, including seven of the top 55 markets in the nation: Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Sacramento, Portland, San Diego, and Salt Lake City.

The 61 conference TV appearances for WCC basketball are on top of at least 47 non-conference TV games and five ESPN Networks telecasts from the WCC tournament.  All told, the West Coast Conference will have well over 100 televised men's basketball games during the 2012-13 campaign.

Last season, five West Coast Conference teams competed in the postseason for the second consecutive year - including three teams in the NCAA Tournament: BYU, Gonzaga, and 2012 WCC Champion Saint Mary's.  Conference play begins on Wednesday, January 2.  For the most up-to-date schedule with game times and TV listings, visit WCCsports.com.
