MORAGA, Calif. -- Last Saturday, the Saint Mary's women's tennis team pulled off one of its best wins ever when it beat No. 7 Stanford 4-3.

The No. 30-ranked Gaels will need that effort and more this weekend as No. 2 UCLA visits Korth Tennis Complex for a noon match on Saturday.

It will be another stern non-conference test for a Saint Mary's team that has shown it can compete with the best in the country. At 5-3 overall, the Gaels have won four in a row entering play this weekend.

Leading the way at the top of the lineup is junior Jenny Jullien. Ranked No. 24 in the country, Jullien carries an 8-1 spring record with her into the UCLA match. Four of her wins have come against opponents ranked No. 30 or higher.

At No. 3 singles, sophomore Danielle Flores earned her first win over a ranked opponent this season when she beat Stanford's Ellen Tsay in three sets. Tsay was ranked No. 33 in the country.

Jullien and Flores have also played well since teaming up to become SMC's No. 1 doubles team. The duo has won all three matches it has completed, helping to stabilize the Gaels doubles lineup from the top.

Also playing well of late has been sophomore Catherine Leduc. The native of Quebec, Canada has won her last three matches at No. 5 singles, and her victory against Stanford's Natalie Dillon clinched the match win for the Gaels.
UCLA enters play this weekend at 6-1, and will play at Cal one day before coming to Moraga.

Leading the way at the top of the lineup is sophomore Robin Anderson. The native of Matawan, N.J. is 18-1 this season, with a 4-1 record in dual matches.

The Bruins have no shortage of talent throughout the lineup, as five other singles players are ranked in the top 125 entering the weekend. Four doubles teams are also ranked, giving UCLA plenty of options when it comes to forming a lineup.

Saint Mary's hits the road after hosting the Bruins. The Gaels will play a pair of matches in Tempe, Ariz. on March 2-3, squaring off first against Arizona State and then against Memphis. Action returns to Moraga on March 8 when SMC hosts Sacramento State.
