MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary’s women’s tennis (5-5) won its third straight match, as the Gaels blanked Sacramento State, 4-0, at Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.
The three doubles teams swept the Hornets, all with the score of 6-1. Emma Critser and Danielle McIntyre found their winning ways as the top doubles team for SMC. Critser and McIntyre cruised on court No. 1 to collect their fourth win of the season on the top doubles court.
Three singles competitions went unfinished, but SMC claimed victories on courts 1, 4 and 6 for the 4-0 win over the Hornets.
McCord continued to shine for the Gaels, rolling through her competition for the 6-2, 6-3 victory. Manji also recorded a win, her fifth on court 4 for SMC. The junior is now an impressive 5-2 in the fourth spot of the Gaels lineup.
Parminder Kaur won the first set in convincing fashion before her opponent retired due to an ailment.
Saint Mary’s will now open West Coast Conference action this Friday, March 24 at Timothy Korth Tennis Complex. The Gaels will open conference play versus national powerhouse, and defending WCC Champion Pepperdine at 1:30 p.m. PT.
