TEMPE, Ariz. — The Saint Mary's women's tennis team continues to collect academic honors, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association named the Gaels an All-Academic Team for 2016-17 and recognized four players as Scholar-Athletes.
Now a graduate, McCord ended her career as a Gael with a 3.90 cumulative GPA. Graduating with McCord, Kaur earned her Business Administration degree and posted a 3.59 cumulative GPA.
Entering her third season at SMC, Clement currently has a 3.52 GPA in her journey as a Business Administration major. Also a Business Administration major, Manji collects another academic honor with her 3.53 GPA. Now her second ITA Scholar-Athlete honor. Nommensen currently boasts an amazing 3.95 cumulative GPA as a Business Administration major.
The Gaels had five student-athletes earn West Coast Conference All-Academic honors back in May.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).
