MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's women's rowing team will hold an informational meeting at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Soda Center for Saint Mary's students interested in joining the SMC women's novice rowing team.
The meeting is dubbed “Walk-On Wednesday,” where the team will go over what it is like to row at Saint Mary's, how to walk on to the team and what the tryout period entails. The program is looking for competitive athletes who want to learn a new sport.
“Rowing is one of the only collegiate sports that has a category specifically for walk-on athletes,” said Saint Mary's head coach Anna Pytlak. “It is a really unique opportunity to compete at the Division I level and learn a new sport.”
More information on joining the Saint Mary's women's rowing team can be found by visiting the team's walk-on information page here.
