Left Saint Mary's early after being drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 15th round with the 453rd overall pick in the 2009 MBL Draft.

2009: Played in 53 games, starting 51…went 57-for-171 for a .333 batting average…scored 35 runs and drove in 39 RBI…clubbed nine doubles and a career-high six homeruns…notched 18 multi-hit games, which tied for second on the team…named to the 2009 West Coast Conference Honorable Mention accolades….notched 12 multiple-RBI games which was second on the team…went 6-for-12 with two runs scored and six driven in, with a double and a homerun in the series versus San Diego…in conference play hit .316 going 24-for-76 with 11 runs scored and 22 driven in…notched seven multi-hit games, with six multiple-RBI games…and ended the season with a seven game hitting streak…started one game on the mound, pitched five complete innings…pitched a perfect inning, striking out one in the Apr. 17 win over San Diego.

 

2008:  Started all 53 games, was one of two Gaels to start all 53 games...hit .303 on the year, setting career highs in hits (57) and doubles (13)...played gold glove caliber defense all season long, leading the team with 396 put outs, and finishing the year with a .984 fielding percentage...had 18 multi-hit games, which put him second on the team...opened 2008 season with three straight multi-hit games...went 6-for-13 in the LMU series, scoring five runs with two doubles...finished the year with a 15 game hitting streak...hit .340 with runners on, hit .449 to lead off an inning and hit .500 with runners on third...had 19 two-out RBI’s which was second on the team...appeared in nine games off the mound making six starts...finished the season 3-2 with a 4.47 ERA in 42.0 IP...threw 7.0 innings of two-hit baseball in win over UC Davis on 2/26...struck out season high five batters in three innings of work vs. UC Davis on 3/25 and again on 4/29 vs. Sonoma Sate. 

 

2007: Selected a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball...named to 2007 Ping Baseball Freshman All-American team... was named a Perfect Game Mid-Season Freshman All-American...started in all 51 games for the Gaels as a true freshman...batted .320 (55-for-172) which ranked second on the team and added a home run and a team-leading 37 RBI...tallied 23 runs, two doubles and 60 total bases...walked a team-leading 30 times and led the squad with a .438 on base percentage...was a perfect 2-for-2 on stolen bases...batted 3-for-4 in first collegiate game against Nevada...batted 5-for-7 in first two games of Nevada series...batted 2-for-5 with a RBI 3/18 vs. SUU...batted 3-for-4 with 2 RBI at SJSU on 4/10...batted 2-for-3 with a RBI vs. LMU on 4/15...batted 2-for-4 with a RBI on 4/20 at Gonzaga...batted 2-for-4 with a RBI on 4/25 at CSSU...batted 3-for-4 with a run and RBI on 5/1 vs. Patten...drove in game-winner against SCU on 5/6...drilled first career home run on a 2-for-4 day, adding two runs and three RBI on 5/13 at USF...on the mound led the Gaels with six wins...made 12 appearances and 10 starts...sported a 6-4 record with a 4.44 ERA...struck out 46 in 52.2 innings pitched...struck out a career-high 12 in a complete game five-hitter against Columbia on March 4...earned first career win against San Jose St. on Feb. 4...fielded .995 and made only two errors in 395 chances.

 

High School: Comes to Saint Mary's from De La Salle High School where he earned two letters for Spartans head coach Eric Borba...led the team last season with a 0.68 ERA and two saves in 31.3 innings...batted .456 with three home runs and 35 RBIs...added six doubles and three triples...was named First-Team BVAL and First-Team East Bay along with an All-Contra Costa Times selection...batted 6-for-12 with six RBI in three playoff games.
