Drafted in the 49th round by the Baltimore Orioles...was picked 1,438th overall in the 2010 Major League Draft.

As a senior (2010): Made 18 appearances, all out of the bullpen...recorded a team-high five saves...posted a 0-2 record with a 4.50 earned run average...tallied 17 strikeouts and allowed five walks in 16.0 innings pitched...allowed 12 runs (eight earned) on 12 hits and held opposing hitters to a .258 batting average...took the loss in the season opener against San Jose State, after allowing two runs on two hits in the eighth inning...pitched a perfect ninth inning to get the save against No. 11 UC Irvine on Mar. 6...earned the save in a 5-4 win over Portland on Apr. 11...had two saves in the series against Santa Clara...picked up the save at Seattle on May 21...longest outing of the season was 1.2 innings against Southern Miss, allowing four runs on five hits in a 19-11 win for the Gaels...struck out three of the four batters he faced against Gonzaga on May 16.

As a junior (2009): Appeared in 23 games, starting one…his 23 appearances was tops on the team…finished fifth on the team in strike outs, recording 28…finished the year with 30.1 innings pitched posting a 6.53 ERA, going 0-2…longest outing of the season came against LMU on 4/25 going 3.0 complete innings with two strike outs…earned a save in the 4-2 win over Oregon on 2/21 going 1.2 innings with a strike out…notched six consecutive scoreless appeances from 3/8 to 3/22…held right handed hitters to a .197 avearge…averaged 8.31 strike outs per game…in conference play he made seven appearances with eight strike outs…against San Diego on 4/17 he pitched a scoreless inning to hold the lead.

As a sophomore (2008):  Made 15 appearances, including three starts as a true freshman...posted a 4.45 ERA in 28.1 innings of work...made his collegiate debut on 2/23 vs. Towson...made his first collegiate start on 3/25 vs. UC Davis...earned his first collegiate win on 4/1 vs. San Francisco State, going two complete and giving up one hit while striking out four...pitched a scoreless ninth inning while striking out two for his first collegiate save on 4/26 vs. Gonzaga...earned second save in 2.1 innings of relief, striking out three vs. Portland on 5/16...tied for the team lead in saves (2)...most impressive outing of the year came in his 2.2 innings or relief in which he held Pepperdine hitless while striking out three to earn his second career win on 4/5...struck out a career-high four batters on 4/20 in two plus innings of work vs. San Diego. 

High School: Earned three letters in baseball for coach Joel Kaufman at Palo Alto HS...did not play his senior year due to surgery on his throwing arm... as a junior, posted a 1.78 ERA for the Vikings... earned All SCVAL Second Team honors in his junior campaign... was ranked the No. 23 prospect in Northern California and No. 57 in the state by Perfect Game.
