DAVIS, Calif. - The Saint Mary's lacrosse team lost its final game of the season to UC Davis 24-10 on Tuesday afternoon on the Aggie campus. Rachel Minarovich had nine draw controls for the Gaels, giving her 75 for the season, a single-season school record.
With the loss, Saint Mary's drops to 3-12, while UC Davis ends its season with a 6-10 mark.
Saint Mary's was led by Olivia Angulo with three goals, while Amanda Cross added two goals and two assists. Mariah Walk, Julie Munroe, Minarovich, Allie DeBruhl and Anna Turpit also scored for SMC.
UC Davis was led by Hannah Mirza who scored eight times, all in the first half. Elizabeth Datino set a UC Davis record with eight assists, along with four goals. Elizabeth Landry added six goals and one assist.
The Gaels got off to a strong start and pulled within 5-4 on Cross' second goal of the game. UC Davis would then go on a 12-1 run that went into the second half. UC Davis led 15-5 at halftime and extended the lead to 17-5, before the Gaels could get back on the board.
Angulo would score three of SMC's final four goals of the game as Munroe would account for the other SMC score.
UC Davis outshot Saint Mary's 38-19 and held a 22-14 edge in ground balls. UCD held a 20-16 edge in draw controls and a 19-15 edge in turnovers.
