MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's soccer team (6-9-2, 1-4-0 West Coast Conference) travels to Provo, Utah to take on No. 5 Brigham Young (14-1-1, 3-1-1 WCC) at 12:00 p.m. (PT).

The match-up with No. 5 BYU is the second match-up against a nationally ranked team for the Gaels this season. On September 2, Saint Mary's battled with No. 17 Texas A&M in College Station and lost a 1-0 match on a late goal.

This will be the third all-time meeting between the Cougars and Gaels. BYU has won each meeting, including last year's 4-1 decision in Moraga.

Saint Mary's is looking to end a four match losing streak, while two of those matches were decided by just one goal. Five of SMC's losses this season have been by one goal margins.

Vicki Shimkus leads SMC with 10 points coming on four goals and two assists. Melinda Madden has scored four goals with one assist. Christina Tognetti has scored three goals while Katy Roby and Caroline Beaulne have scored two apiece.

Kate Brenot and Khayla Jones have each seen action in goal. Brenot has recorded 34 saves with a 2.56 goals against average while Jones has saved 69 shots with a 1.10 goals against average.

BYU enters the week on a 13-match unbeaten streak. The only non-win was a tie against No. 21 Santa Clara on October 5. BYU has wins over No. 6 Penn State, No. 11 Long Beach State and No. 23 Washington.

The Cougars have scored 35 goals this year as a team. Michele Murphy has a team-high eight goals, while Jessica Ringwood has scored seven times. Carlee Holmoe is the assist leader with eight.

Erica Owens is the goalkeeper with nine goals allowed and a 0.57 goals against average in 16 matches.

As a team, BYU is out shooting its opponents by a 297-123 margin.
