STANFORD, Calif. -- The Saint Mary's women's tennis team saw its run at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northwest Regional come to an end Sunday as all three of the Gaels doubles teams fell at Stanford.
One day after knocking off the No. 3 seeds, the team of Jade Frampton and Danielle Flores won its first match Sunday easily, beating Cal Poly's Sophia Bott and Louise Oxnevad 8-2.
Frampton and Flores couldn't make it past the semifinal though, as they were defeated 8-3 by Tayler S. Davis and Annie Goransson of California.
No. 5 seeds Jenny Jullien and Audrey Leitz also won their first match of the day, beating Santa Clara's Kelly Lamble and Maggie McGeorge 8-5 to advance to the quarters.
That was as far as the Gaels would get, as they lost an 8-2 decision to the No. 2 seeds, California's Anett Schutting and Zsofia Susanyi.
The team of Catherine Isip and Hannah Liljekvist also made it to Sunday's round of 32, but they dropped their first match 8-3 to the California duo of Cecilia Estlander and Laura Posylkin.
With action wrapped up at Stanford, Saint Mary's will now take a bit of a breather before continuing the fall season at the Bulldog Invitational in Fresno on Nov. 2. The Gaels will close the fall campaign in Moraga by hosting the USTA Campus Showdown on Nov. 10.
