SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Jackie Nared of the Saint Mary's women's basketball team has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office. Nared averaged 21.5 ppg and 11.0 rpg in wins over Butler and Chattanooga during the SMC Hilton Concord Classic.
This is the Gaels second WCC Player of the Week award as Danielle Mauldin also won during the opening week of the season.
She was also named the West Coast Player of the Week by College Sports Madness and the Saint Mary's Student-Athlete of the week.
Nared had double-doubles in both games and a career-high tying game against Chattanooga.
Against Chattanooga, Nared matched her career high with 28 points and adding 11 rebounds. She made 8-of-9 from the free-throw line to ice the 70-67 win.
In the win over Butler, Nared scored 15 points with 10 rebounds and four assists.
For the weekend, Nared scored 43 points (21.5 ppg) and 22 rebounds (11.0 rpg) while adding seven assists and two three pointers. She was also 15-for-17 from the free-throw line (.882).
