SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Saint Mary's women's tennis team closed its trip to the Pacific Northwest in style, defeating Gonzaga 6-1 Thursday to improve to 2-0 in West Coast Conference play.

Saint Mary's (3-3 overall) got WCC play started on Wednesday with a 5-2 win at Portland.

That momentum carried over to Thursday's action, as the Gaels earned the first point of the match thanks to a pair of doubles wins.

Jenny Jullien and Danielle Flores teamed for a 8-5 win at No. 1, while Audrey Leitz and Jade Frampton picked up an 8-2 victory at No. 3.

In singles, Saint Mary's enjoyed a five-win day, led by Jenny Jullien's 6-4, 6-4 victory over Kylie Peek at No. 1.

Jullien, who was recently named WCC Player of the Month for January, improved to 7-1 in spring competition with the win.

The Gaels had plenty of firepower throughout the rest of the lineup as well.

Catherine Isip closed a two-win trip with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Isabell Klingert at No. 2. Jade Frampton and Catherine Leduc earned wins at No. 4 and 5. And freshman Hannah Liljekvist picked up her first victory of the spring with a tense 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 victory over Melanie Yates at No. 6.
