MORAGA, Calif. -- With the start of West Coast Conference play signaling a new stage in the season for the Saint Mary's women's tennis team, Catherine Isip used the opportunity to turn her game up a notch as well.

Playing at No. 2 singles for all three matches the Gaels played, Isip went 3-0 during the week to help Saint Mary's win all three matches it played.

For her strong play, Isip has been named Saint Mary's Student-Athlete of the Week.

The senior from Anaheim, Calif. got her week started with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Portland's Sabine Fuchs on Wednesday.

Isip continued her roll the next day, defeating Gonzaga's Isabell Klingert 6-0, 6-3 to help Saint Mary's to a 6-1 win.

With the Gaels finally back at home for their first home match, Isip's strong play carried over to Sunday's match against Cal Poly. A 6-0, 6-0 win over Jennifer Cornea put the cap on an excellent three-match stretch.

Isip also won her lone decision in doubles, teaming with Elizabeth Searl to win 8-1 at No. 2 doubles against Cal Poly.

Saint Mary's will be back in action Saturday as they head to the South Bay to take on Stanford at noon. The Gaels return to Korth Tennis Complex on Feb. 23 for a match against another highly ranked Pac-12 squad, UCLA. Action starts at noon.
