MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's soccer team announced the addition of Madison Salom to the squad for the upcoming 2013 season. Salom, who has begun to take classes this spring term, is practicing with the Gaels and will begin play in the spring season.

"She is a very quick and technical player," said head coach Kai Edwards. "She brings great club experience and the ability to play out of pressure... we are excited to see her grow as a Gael."

Salom will join the Gaels as a sophomore for the 2013 fall season. She played last year for Foothill College, where the soccer team earned the Coast Conference Championship and reached the semifinals in the Cal North Tourney. She was all-league second-team.

The midfielder attended Archbishop Mitty HS in San Jose. Salom played varsity for four seasons as the team won the Central Coast Section DII Championship in 2011 and 2012. The team captain was named the team's Most Inspirational Player. Other honors included first-team all-league twice, and a spot on the San Jose Mercury News All-League 2nd Team.
