SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Danielle Mauldin and Jackie Nared were named to the All-West Coast Conference First-Team, it was announced by the conference office. Saint Mary's enters the postseason having won 19 games, a big part due to having the WCC's leading scorer and rebounder.
Mauldin leads the WCC in rebounds per game by a wide margin with 10.8 rpg. She has a team-high 15 double-doubles, including single-game highs of 29 points and 17 rebounds. Mauldin's 14.0 ppg also ranks fifth in the WCC. The junior forward is shooting 48.8 percent from the field with 378 points and 291 rebounds this season. She also earned a WCC Player of the Week award during the first week of the season.
Nared has essentially led the WCC in scoring (all games) since the opening game of the season, scoring 25 points with 17 rebounds at Washington. The 17 rebounds are a career-high and she would later notch a career-high of 30 points against San Diego. The junior guard has 12 double-doubles this season and is second in the WCC in rebounding with 8.8 rpg. Nared has scored in double figures in 22-of-27 games this season.
Saint Mary's begins its WCC Tournament quest on Friday, March 8th with a match-up against either Santa Clara or Portland. Tip is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
