MORAGA, Calif. – Dalas Dodd and Jordan Shaw were selected to the AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball Championships, announced by the AVCA. The Saint Mary’s No. 1 pair enjoyed an outstanding first-year, as the Gaels went 8-2 as a team and earned a national ranking.
Dodd and Shaw were selected as one of the 10 at-large pairs to make the tournament. The pairs championship will begin on Friday, May 3 and conclude on Sunday, May 5 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The pair of Dodd/Shaw is the No. 4 seed in Pool B.
Pool B includes Sammie Strausbaugh/Taylor Nyquist (Jacksonville), Kate Stepanova/Ksenia Sukhareva (Florida International), Felicia Arriola/Litara Keil (Loyola Marymount), Dodd/Shaw (SMC) and Zoe Nightingale/Becca Strehlow (UCLA).
Pool A consists of Lane Carico/Katie Madewell (Georgia State), Kelly Reeves/Meg Norton (UCLA), Jessica Mendoza/Maryna Samoday (Florida International), Bethanie Thomas/Kiriana Hirini (UAB) and Hannah Clancy/Katarina Schultz (Pacific).
