MORAGA, Calif. -- Maryann Concannon continued her accolade-filled offseason Tuesday, adding second team Pocock All-American to her already impressive list of achievements.
Recognized by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA), Concannon was one of just 42 rowers in the nation to earn a spot on either the first or second team. She is the lone West Coast Conference rower to earn the honor this season.
"Congratulations to Maryann. She's a tremendous athlete. She's the type of person you want to have on your team -- positive, hard-working, competitive, coachable," Saint Mary's coach Nicole Younts said. "Maryann has been our team MVP the last two years and has been a huge part of our team success."
Concannon, who recently completed her junior season, is currently taking part in the USRowing Under 23 National Camp in Princeton, N.J.
The camp is being used to determine several U.S. teams that will compete later this summer in international competition, and Concannon was one of only seven rowers from a West Coast college to make the initial invite list.
Tuesday's award joins several others that Concannon has already garnered.
She was named a second team All-American for the West region by the CRCA late last month. Earlier in May, she joined teammate Haley Adams on the All-WCC team announced after the WCC Championships in Gold River, Calif.
