MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team has added Devyn Galland, a sophomore transfer from Oregon. She will sit out the 2013-14 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Galland, a 5-foot-8 guard from Spokane, Washington, appeared in 30 games last year for the Ducks. She averaged 6.9 points per game, playing in 551 total minutes. Of her 53 field-goals made, she connected on 16 three-pointers. Galland is a very good free-throw shooter, connecting on 84-of-96 (.875) which would have led the Gaels last year.
Galland scored in double-figures in seven games, including a season-high 13 points against Connecticut on December 31st. She faced the Gaels early in 2012-13, scoring nine points in 11 minutes as Saint Mary’s won at Oregon.
Galland was a high school teammate of current Gael Hayley Hendricksen.
