MORAGA, Calif. – Ali Teliha of the Saint Mary’s cross country team has been named the Muscle Milk SMC Student-Athlete of the Week.
Teliha set a freshman program record, running her first-ever 6K race. She finished sixth overall with a time of 21:55.02 at the West Coast Conference championships preview race in Malibu last week. She broke the previous mark held by current teammate Katie Alioto by 15 seconds.
The Saint Mary’s women’s squad finished in third place as a team, doing so without its top returning runner.
Saint Mary’s is back in action in two weeks when it travels to the Stanford Invitational on September 28th at Stanford Golf Course.
