MBK | Tip-Off Dinner A Slam Dunk

MORAGA, Calif. -- The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team opened the 2013-14 season in style at its annual Tip-Off Dinner presented by Scott’s Seafood Grill and Bar on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Blackhawk Museum in Danville.

The event featured head coach Randy Bennett, the Saint Mary's basketball team, Matt Maiocco of Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and the College’s newly inaugurated president James Donahue.

The evening included a hosted cocktail reception and silent auction, player introductions, a three-course meal provided by Scott’s Seafood as well as interviews with Coach Bennett, President Donahue and SMC standouts Beau Levesque and Stephen Holt

One highlight from the night was the unveiling of plans for the new Student Athlete Performance Center.  With a fundraising goal of $9 million, the project will not only expand McKeon Pavilion to create an additional 350 seats and improve the fan experience, but also house a state-of-the-art training room, weight room and student support space that will benefit all of Saint Mary’s NCAA Division I programs.
