MORAGA, Calif. — Senior guard Joe Rahon was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their performances both athletically and in the classroom. First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot where First, Second and Third-team All-America honors will be selected later this month.

Rahon graduated his bachelor’s degree in Economics, and boasted a 3.62 grade-point average. The transfer guard is now enrolled in the Master’s in Leadership program at Saint Mary’s.

Rahon currently leads the West Coast Conference and the Gaels in assists per game (5.8). He ranks 20th in the country in assists per game. The 6-2 guard also leads the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.6, 5th NCAA) and minutes per game (37.0, 7th NCAA).

No. 22 Saint Mary’s hosts Loyola Marymount this Thursday night at 8 p.m. The Gaels will then travel to BYU for a conference clash at 7 p.m. that can be seen on ESPN2.
