MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s men’s tennis team returns home to the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex this weekend to host UC Davis on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m.
This will be the first time the Gaels will face the Aggies since spring of 2015.
The Gaels are coming off a loss at Stanford where the team competed till the end against the Cardinal. In the loss, newcomer Damon Kesaris forced a tough three-setter versus No. 70 Michael Genender on court 2. Kesaris captured the first set 6-3, but lost in a nail-biting battle, 3-6, 7-6, 10-6.
Manuel De Luis Lamelas displayed power, finesse and a nice touch around the court, as the senior eventually lost a marathon two-setter in the No. 4 spot for SMC.
The Aggies are coming off back-to-back wins down in sunny San Diego, Calif. UC Davis defeated the Toreros 4-3, and followed the win with a victory over San Diego State.
With rain in the forecast, stay tuned to SMCGaels.com for the latest updates.
After hosting UCD, Saint Mary’s will embark on a two week road swing which will begin on Friday, Feb. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
