RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's rowing team opened their spring season on Saturday at the Sacramento Invitational posting strong times and concluding the day with three top-three finishes.

Both of Sacramento State's boats took first place in the Varsity Eights.

Saint Mary's Varsity Four boat struggled on the day taking sixth place in 8:44.5. Portland barely beat out the Gaels, taking fifth with a time of 8:29.9. Sacramento State took first place.
