The Gaels have won their last nine regular season matches against the Tigers, dating back to the 2003-04 season. SMC defeated Pacific 4-0 last year in Stockton with contributions coming from current Gaels Emma Critser, Clementine Clement, Parminder Kaur and Kareena Manji.
Saint Mary’s (10-7, 5-2 WCC) is coming fresh off a 4-2 victory in Portland and have won four of their last five matches. Kaur has been one of the Gaels’ most dominant singles players this season, posting a 10-4 record and has won her last five matches. Manji has also played well in singles out of mainly the fourth spot in the rotation and is 4-1 in West Coast Conference play.
Jana McCord/Manji lead all Gaels’ doubles tandems with a 10-4 record and Clement/Pelletier have faired well this season with a 6-2 record in the three spot. Danielle McIntyre/Critser have played 10 of the 15 sets as the Gaels’ top doubles duo.
The Tigers traveled up to the Pacific Northwest last weekend at the same time as the Gaels as they dropped both matches to Portland and Gonzaga. Their most recent win came against UC Irvine in a 4-3 decision.
