MORAGA, Calif. — An all-time great at Saint Mary's, Tom Meschery will be present for the Gaels All-Star Classic this Sunday, June 25.
Tickets to the 2nd Gaels All-Star Classic can be purchased online HERE.
One of the program's most prolific power forwards, Meschery ranks third in rebounds with a total of 916. The 6-6 power forward played for the Gaels from 1958-61, and has the program's highest rebounding average (13.5).
Meschery was the first Gaels basketball player to have his jersey retired, as his No. 31 iconically hangs inside McKeon Pavilion.
Meschery continued his dominance after college and into the NBA. Having played 10 seasons in the National Basketball Association, Meschery finished his illustrious career with 778 games played, and averaged 12.7 points and 8.6 rebounds. Sticking with his Bay Area roots, Meschery was an All-Star for the San Francisco Warriors, and has his No. 14 jersey retired by the NBA champions.
Now a famed poet and Warriors analyst, Meschery will come back to a star-studded McKeon Pavilion to once again experience the rich history of the Gaels program.
