DETROIT, Mich. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the rosters for the 2009 Hershey’s College All-Star game. Saint Mary’s forward Diamon Simpson was one of the 20 Division I senior student-athletes chosen to participate in the game, which will be played as part of Final Four Friday (April 3) at Ford Field. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 4:35 p.m. (ET), and will be televised live by CBS College Sports.
Simpson, who completed his senior season at Saint Mary’s, helped the Gaels post a 28-7 overall record during the 2008-09 campaign. He averaged a double-double this year, as he was third on the team in scoring (13.8 ppg) and first on the squad in rebounding (10.8 rpg). He finished his SMC career as the school’s leader in rebounds (1,130), blocked shots (239), and steals (174), and ranks third all-time in scoring with 1,603 points. Simpson is the only player in school history to score 1,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds.
