Our Mission
To support and serve as an advocate for each student athlete at Saint Mary's College by providing the highest standard in quality, comprehensive medical care through professionalism, experience and integrity.

About Us
Certified athletic trainers (ATCs) are medical experts in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating athletic injuries that result from physical activity. Athletic trainers can help you avoid unnecessary medical treatment and disruption of normal daily life.

ATCs are highly qualified, multi-skilled allied health care professionals and have been part of the American Medical Association's Health Professions Career and Education Directory for more than a decade. Additionally, the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine - among others - are all strong clinical and academic supporters of athletic trainers.

The Saint Mary's College Sports Medicine Team is a group of over 30 medical providers assembled to assist in the care, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This team consists of orthopedic surgeons, general surgeons, general practice physicians, physical therapists, dentists, ear/nose and throat physicians, neurologists, nueropsychologists, physiatrists, cardiologists, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, chiropractors  and podiatrists. The athletic training staff operates under the direct supervision of these providers and routinely collaborates with them to make all decisions regarding athletic injuries and participation.

Currently, Dr. Nancy Rolnik, MD operates as the Saint Mary's Medical Director and Head Team Physician by providing both medical and administrative oversight to the athletic training staff and the SMC Sports Medicine Team.

Each staff member possesses current certification through the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and are also first aid, AED, and CPR certified.
