Jordan Shaw joins the Gaels' staff in 2014 as the director of volleyball operations. One of Saint Mary's all-time great players statistically, Shaw will be in charge of logistics for the team and will also direct and execute the team's social media initiatives.
Senior (2013): Finished indoor career in Moraga as one of Saint Mary's all-time most accomplished players ... earned her second All-West Coast Conference First Team nod and became the first Gaels volleyball player to earn All-AVCA Pacific North regional honors since the organization began naming regional teams in 1995 ... also earned All-AVCA All-America honorable mention ... with a kill in the second set of the Loyola Marymount match on Nov. 9, she became the 10th SMC player to reach 1,000 kills for a career ... wrapped her career No. 8 on the all-time kills list with 1,087 and sits third all-time among Gaels to have played their entire career during the Rally Scoring era (2005-present) behind only Megan York ('07-'10) and Lauren Corp ('09-'12) ... named the WCC Player of the Month for November as she finished her final month of indoor play with 104 kills and 4.52 kills per set average in seven matches. She averaged 2.30 digs per set, finishing the month with 53, and hit at a fantastic clip of .376 ... during that November stretch, Shaw set the Saint Mary's record for most kills in a three-set match with 24 against UTEP in the season finale on Nov. 29 ... led the team in kills (396) and kills per set (3.84), ranked second in digs (265) and tied for second in digs per set (2.57). Also finished third on the team in aces (30) ... earned WCC Player of the Week honors on Oct. 14 for totaling a combined 37 kills and 20 digs in home wins over Pepperdine and LMU ... finished the season with 12 double-doubles, leading the team in that category ... led the way in perhaps Saint Mary's most impressive win of the season, setting career highs in kills (27) and digs (22) as the Gaels rallied from two sets down to beat No. 19-ranked BYU on Oct. 26 ... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll Bronze list for carrying a GPA between 3.49 and 3.0.
Junior (2012): Named to the preseason All-WCC team... played the first five matches of the year at libero, recording 13 and 14 digs respectively against Stanford and Hawaii... made her season debut at outside hitter against Kansas State with 10 kills... recorded 15 kills in a sweep against Utah State... had 19 kills and 15 digs in a loss to Stanford, her first double-double of the year... recorded two aces in back-to-back matches against California and Stanford... recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs and hit at a .478 clip in a sweep against Portland.. named WCC Player of the Week on October 1 after leading the Gaels to wins over No. 18 Pepperdine and No. 11 BYU... for the week, Shaw averaged 3.92 kills per set while hitting at a .327 clip notching double-doubles in each match... recorded double-digit kills for the ninth time during the season against San Francisco with 14 kills in a sweep on the road... seven double-doubles on the year ... enjoyed a standout season in sand volleyball as well, reaching the round of 16 with partner Dalas Dodd at the AVCA National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Sophomore (2011): Named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team...finished third in the West Coast Conference with 3.37 kills per set...set a new career-high with 283 kills...led the Gaels with a .273 hitting percentage...finished the year with nine double-doubles...in WCC action she finished third in the conference in kills (196) and kills per set (3.38)...tallied 10 or more kills in 19 matches this season...tallied 192 digs which is a new career-high, averaging 2.29 digs per set...blasted a career-high 21 kills on 43 swings for a .302 hitting percentage in the upset win over No. 17 San Diego on 10/26, also grabbed 11 digs for her ninth double-double of the year...hit a career-high .654 against San Francisco smashing 18 kills on 26 swings with just one error, also tallied 10 digs for a double-double...hit .424 against No. 17 San Diego on 10/13 recording 15 kills on 33 swings with only one error, also recorded a career-high 20 digs for her fifth double-double of the year...led the Gaels in kills against Portland and Gonzaga on 10/6 and 10/8...against the Bulldogs she finished with a match-high 13 kills on 25 swings for a .360 hitting percentage...versus the Pilots she recorded a team-high 15 kills on 28 swings for a .321 hitting percentage...finished tied for first on the team with 34 kills, averaging 3.09 kills per set in the BYU/Nike Invitational...recorded her first career double-double 11 kills and 11 digs against UC Santa Barbara on 8/26...hit .333 againts BYU on 2/28 throwing down 13 kills on 27 swings...recorded her second career double-double against Cal Poly on 8/30 notching a 15 kills and a career-high 17 digs, the 17 digs led the match...led the team with 27 kills in the Stanford Invitational...tied her career-high with 17 kills in the win over No. 18 Duke...recorded her third-career double-double against Notre Dame on 9/3 smashing 10 kills and picking up 11 digs in the straight-sets victory...tallied her fourth career double-double with a team-high 13 kills and 11 digs in the four set match against USF on 9/24...led the Gaels with nine kills on 22 swings for a .227 hitting percentage against BYU on 9/22.
Summer (2011): With teammate Natalie Loos, was a member of the United States A2 Junior National Team that won gold at the 2011 European Global Challenge in Pula, Croatia.
Freshman (2010): Played in 23 matches starting 21 of them …made her Saint Mary’s debut on 9/3 versus No. 14 UCLA notching six kills on 20 swings…finished the year with 177 kills which was fifth on the team and third in the WCC for freshman…she averaged 2.27 kills per set which was fourth on the team…had eight double digit kill performances which was fourth on the squad…also tallied two double-doubles on the year…she averaged 1.47 digs per set, recording 115 digs on the year…she smashed a season-high 17 kills on 24 swings against No. 1 Stanford on 9/17…in conference play she was third on the team with a 2.32 kills per set average…she was fourth overall with 102 total kills…on the Nationally televised match against Pepperdine on 10/20 she tallied 15 kills on 32 swings including three crucial kills in the fifth frame of the five set victory…at Loyola Marymount on 11/18 she recorded her first career double-double with 13 kills and a career-high 15 digs…she notched her second career double-double on with 10 kills and 12 digs against Pacific on 11/27.
High School: Comes to Moraga by way of Woodside, CA where she attended Saint Francis High School...while at Saint Francis she was a three-time letter winner for the Lancers, helping guide her team to the Central Coast Championship three-straight years...in 2009 she was named an AVCA All-American nomination...she was a three-time All-West Catholic Athletic League honoree, garnering first team honors in 2009, and second team in 2007 and 2008...she was named to the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions All-Tournament Team in 2009, as well as team captain...as a member of the Vision Volleyball Club she was a three-time Junior Olympics All-Tournament...she helped her club team win silver in 2007 and bronze in 2009.
Personal: Born Jordan Kindy Shaw to parents Don and Carolyn Shaw...her father Don was the head coach of Stanford from 1986 to 1999 winning four NCAA Championships...her grandfather Herb Schoenstein was a member of the Santa Clara basketball team that went to the NCAA Final Four in 1952...chose Saint Mary's because of the great academics as well as the volleyball program.
