NAPA, Calif. -- With over 200 people in attendance, the Saint Mary's baseball team celebrated a new direction under first year head coach Eric Valenzuela with the annual First Pitch Dinner at Black Stallion Winery in Napa.
With comedian Tom Wilson serving as host, the evening included a hosted cocktail reception and silent auction, live auction, a three-course meal provided by Scott’s Seafood. Valenzuela introduced his team, as well as the new coaching staff and welcomed a sizeable group of SMC baseball alums in attendance that included former Major Leaguer Mark Teahen.
"We wanted to do something a little different than had been done in the past and for that I think Tom Wilson did a fantastic job as host.," Valenzuela said. "We really enjoyed seeing all the alums that came out to support us and we hope to see more and more each season."
A special thank you on behalf of Saint Mary’s goes to the generous sponsors of the event, including Scott’s Seafood Grill and Bar, Black Stallion Winery, Wells Fargo Bank, Evergood Fine Foods, Vintage Nursery and Bug Zappers Pest Control.
