Selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 14th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft following his junior season.

As a junior (2010): Appeared in 16 games with five starts on the mound for the Gaels...was second on the team with a 4.29 earned run average, had a 2-3 record and one save...threw 42.0 innings, had 30 strikeouts and 15 walks, allowed 23 runs (20 earned) on 48 hits...opponents had a .291 batting average against 11 relief appearances, he posted a 1.00 ERA, allowing three earned runs in 27.0 innings pitched, while giving up 22 hits and nine walks, while striking out 17 hitters...picked up his two wins in the series versus Seattle...the first came when he threw 1.1 innings out of the bullpen on May 21, as the Gaels defeated the Redhawks start of the season came on May 23 against Seattle, when he threw 6.0 innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits with eight strikeouts for his second win of the season...earned his first save of the season, throwing 4.0 innings of relief, allowing two hits and no runs with three Ks in an 8-1 win over No. 15 San Diego on May 29...threw two innings of scoreless relief against Loyola Marymount on May 2.

As a sophomore (2009): Was a 2009 WCC All-Academic selection...appeared in 17 games starting eight, his 17 appearances was third most on the team…finished the season with a 49.2 innings pitched which is a new career-high and fifth on the team…went 2-6 with a 5.98 ERA, striking out 26…pitched. 7.1 innings, earning the win over Oregon on 2/21…earned his second win on 3/30 versus CSU Bakersfield going six complete striking out a season-high five batters…averaged 4.71 strike outs per game…was third on the team in batting average versus right handed hitters.

As a freshman (2008):  Made his collegiate debut and first career start on 3/1 vs. UW Milwaukee...appeared in 12 games making five starts...earned his first collegiate win on 4/15 vs. San Francisco State, going six complete innings and striking out two...struck out a career high five batters in his four innings of relief work on 4/23 vs. outing of the season came in relief vs. Portland, going 2.2 innings, surrendering just one hit and holding onto the victory...held righties to a .217 average...earned his second career win in a four inning relief appearance vs. Sonoma State on 4/29. 

High School: Stays local as he comes from De La Salle High School in Concord, CA... earned two letters, both in baseball, for head coach Eric Borba... named First Team All East Bay and First Team All BVAL in 2007... tallied a 9-3 record for the Spartans his senior year... posted a 1.90 ERA and 63 strike outs in 2007... helped guide his summer team to a Junior Olympics Championship in 2006... had an impressive year on the mound his junior year with a 6-1 record with a 1.78 ERA... ranked the 36th best prospect in Northern Cal and 56th in all of California by Perfect Game.
