Danielle Mauldin of the Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team has been named the Saint Mary’s Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.

Mauldin had two double-doubles last week, leading the Gaels to a sweep over Santa Clara and San Francisco.

Against the Broncos, Mauldin scored 24 points with 17 rebounds in the Gaels’ 80-70 win. The next game at San Francisco, Mauldin scored 17 points with 10 rebounds, going 7-for-10 from the field. For the week, Mauldin averaged 20.5 ppg and 13.5 rpg, shooting .519 from the field (14-for-27) and .867 from the free-throw line (13-for-15). She also averaged 3.0 steals per game and added three assists and a block.

Mauldin enters the week third in the nation in rebounding with 13.8 rpg. She is in the running for the national lead, trailing by just .1 rpg. She also is tied with two others, for the nation’s lead in double-doubles. Mauldin has 13 double-doubles this season in 17 games played.

She is also on the verge of setting the WCC and SMC career rebounding record.  She needs 33 more rebounds to set the new marks.

You can watch Mauldin in action along with the Gaels this week when it hosts WCC games on Thursday and Saturday.
