LAX | SMC Duo Named All-MPSF; Armes First-Team

WOODLAND, Calif. – Megan Armes and Rachel Minarovich of the Saint Mary’s lacrosse team earned spots on the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Conference Team, it was announced by the MPSF office.

Armes earned one of the 16 All-MPSF First-Team selections, being honored as one of the top defenders in the conference.  The SMC junior defender filled up several categories for the Gaels, leading SMC with 32 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers.  Additionally, Armes added 22 draw controls, five goals, two assists and took 20 shots.

Minarovich earned a spot on the MPSF Second-Team, leading the conference in draw controls with a school single-season record of 81.  She ends her career as the MPSF all-time draw control leader.  The senior tied for the team lead with 28 goals, while adding seven assists, 24 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. 

The MPSF Player of the Year went to Stanford’s Hannah Farr.  The MPSF Rookie of the Year went to Paige Soenksen, a freshman goal keeper for Colorado.

The MPSF Coach of the Year went to Liza Kelly of Denver.
