MORAGA, Calif. — Stella Beck was named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 28-Dec. 4 after helping lead the Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team to two road wins at Cal Poly and San Jose State.
Beck averaged 12.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game to lead the Gaels (4-4). She shot 55.0 percent in two games and also collected two blocks. She scored a team-high 17 points in a 79-71 win Thursday at Cal Poly. SMC is 2-0 this season when Beck is its leading scorer. The junior guard nearly had a triple-double Saturday with eight points, six rebounds and seven assists in an 85-64 win at San Jose State.
Saint Mary’s concludes its second three-game road trip of the season at UC Davis on Sunday. Saint Mary’s is 4-1 on the road this season and has won four straight road games dating to Nov. 18 at Northeastern.
