MORAGA, Calif. — After rolling through Northern Colorado in the Golden State Invitational, the Saint Mary’s men’s tennis team returns to action on Tuesday afternoon as the Gaels will host Army at Timothy Korth Tennis Complex. First serve is scheduled for approximately 2 p.m.
The Gaels finished the Golden State Invitational in seventh place after defeating Northern Colorado, 6-1 in the final match.
SMC (4-7) ended their seven-game skid with the win over NCU. The Gaels are currently led by top singles player Nash Vollenweider. Vollenweider is 4-6 in the top singles position for the Gaels. He recently played as the No. 2, and claimed his first win of the dual season on court 2.
First year player Damon Kesaris continues to shine as he is currently riding a 4-match win streak. Kesaris delivered his first career victory on court 1 for the Gaels, after a straight-set 6-1, 6-0 win in the match versus Northern Colorado.
Vollenweider and Kesaris continue to improve together on the doubles court as well. The duo is now 4-3 on the season as the top doubles team for SMC.
Army is currently on a seven-match win streak. The Black Knights are an impressive 10-6 on the season.
