Saint Mary’s took five singles victories over the Bears with four of those wins coming in straight sets. The Gaels top two seeds each cruised to wins with Damon Kesaris defeating UNC’s Conor Finerty 6-1, 6-0 and Nash Vollenweider taking down Kyle Pease 6-4, 6-3.
On the doubles’ side, Lamelas and Matthew Campana teamed up for a 6-4 win and Lagman/Vollenweider formed the other winning tandem by defeating their opponents 6-3.
Saint Mary’s will play next at home against Army on Tuesday, Mar. 14 at 2 p.m. The Gaels are 3-1 at their home courts this year and will seek their fifth win of the season against a 10-6 Black Knights squad.
