MORAGA, Calif. — In the season’s final home game, Saint Mary’s (1-12, 0-7 MPSF) hosted nationally-ranked No. 9 Colorado (14-2, 6-1 MPSF) and eventually fell in a hard-fought game, 24-5.
The Gaels will head to Eugene, Ore. for their final game of 2017. SMC will play at Oregon (8-7, 4-3 MPSF) at 12 p.m. The match can be seen on a live stream through goducks.com/live and live stats are available here.
Five Gaels scored goals in today’s loss versus CU. Saint Mary’s recorded 14 shots in the match and had seven of them on target. The Gaels recovered 12 draw-controls and eight ground balls.
Hannah Dalrymple scored the first goal of the game for the Gaels at the 18:12 mark. SMC notched its second goal of the first half with 3:52 to go off a Anna Marie Carmazzi score and Jocelyn Lubert assist.
SMC battled back in the second half with three more scores. Jillian Dunlap notched her 19th goal of the season as the first year player also had a game-high six draw-controls.
Emily Mack and Jocelyn Lubert would score the final two goals of the game for the Gaels.
First year goalkeeper Meg Sheehan got the start and played all 60 minutes in goal. Sheehan recorded seven saves and one ground ball in the match.
