MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Led by a hat trick from Jocelyn Lubert, the Saint Mary’s lacrosse team (0-3, 0-2 MPSF) made another step forward as the team scored 11 goals for the most goals since the 2015 season.
The Gaels totaled 21 shots in 22-11 loss at Robert Morris University. SMC also collected 15 ground balls and displayed an efficient 15-for-18 on clear attempts.
Jocelyn Lubert now leads the Gaels in goals (6) after recording three in the loss to RMU. Attacker Hannah Dalrymple and midfielder Meagan Bennett notched two goals on the day. Bennett also collected two ground-balls.
Trailing 5-1, the Gaels fought back, scoring four goals to trali 6-5 with 12 minutes to go in the first half. Bennett notched her brace in the seven minute stretch for the Gaels.
First year player Cassidy Hoffman got her first start and completed the game in goal for the Gaels. Hoffman notched nine saves and three ground-balls for the Gaels.
Saint Mary’s will continue on the road, facing the Butler Bulldogs (0-3) on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 12 p.m. PST. Fans can follow the match via live stats here.
