“We are very happy and proud of Anne,” said Saint Mary's head coach Travis Clarke. “She did a fantastic job as our Director of Soccer Operations this past season. She is very detailed, hard working and has the potential to develop into a fantastic coach."
Whipple, who lettered four years at Saint Mary's joined the Gaels coaching staff in 2016 as the Director of Operations. She started in every match she appeared in during the 2012, 2014 and 2015 season as a key player for the defense.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to be the Graduate Assistant for the Women's Soccer Team at Central Washington these next couple of years,” said Whipple. “Not only will the position allow me to impact the soccer program as a part of the staff, but I will also continue my education and earn a Master's degree in Experimental Psychology.”
“I am extremely excited to learn and grow as a coach through interacting with the players, and under the direction of CWU's head coach, Michael Farrand.”
Along with being an outstanding player, Whipple also excelled in the classroom. She picked up WCC All-Academic Honorable Mentions in her junior and senior year campaigns, and earned Silver Honor's on the West Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for having a cumulative GPA between 3.50-3.74.
