TRK | Personal Records Highlight Season Opener At UW

The Saint Mary's men's and women's track teams opened their 2018 seasons at the UW Indoor Open in Seattle

AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-17)

Cross Country: Only ran in two races for the Gaels in last half of the season ... Came in 93rd in 22:48 at the Bronco Invitational on Oct. 15 ... Finished 51st in 23:38.5 on Oct. 28 at the West Coast Conference Championships.

AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16)

Track: In her first season as a Gael, raced in the 1,500m and 2,000m steeple ... Notched a season-best and personal record of 4:44.16 in the 1,500m of the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on April 1 ... Was the only Saint Mary's athlete to compete in the 2,000 steeple recording a season-high of 7:33.65 at the Aggie Open on March 11.

Cross Country: In her first race of the season, finished with the third-fastest Gael time at the 5 km Capital Cross Challenge in 18:47.9 for a season record for this distance... Finished the 6 km Bronco Invitational in 22:39.1 ... Finished 62nd overall at the 6 km West Coast Conference Championships in 23:56.9 ... Grabbed the fourth fastest Gael time at the 6 km NCAA West Regionals, finishing in 23:51.5.

PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: Timbrell found success at the CIF state meet setting a personal best 18:30 over the 5k course and placing 14th in the girls D3 race ... In track, Allie has notch PR's of 5:03 in the mile and 11:16 for 3200m.

PERSONAL: Timbrell selected Saint Mary's because she liked the small-classroom setting as well as the close knit community ... She was also drawn to the up- and- coming cross country/track program and great coaching staff ... She wants to graduate with a degree in Business, find a career where she can use the skills she has learned, and give back to the community ... She also loves to play ultimate Frisbee.
