TRK | Gaels Roll Into Spring At SF State Distance Carnival

MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s track and field teams’ season continues on the eve of April Friday with plenty of action at the 10th annual San Francisco State Distance Carnival at Cox Stadium.

The competition begins with the 10,000 meters on Friday morning. That is followed by double-digit heats in the 1,500 for both the men and women. The 3,000 steeplechase follows at approximately 2 p.m. The evening brings alternating heats of the 5,000.

Saturday features the 800-meter runners, as well as all the short-distance events. Fans can follow live results of the meet all day long by clicking here.

The Gaels have warmed up with four meets during the early season of March. Friday’s distance carnival at San Francisco State, which runs on the same days as the prestigious Stanford Invitational, will have a large field with competitive heats for the Gaels to aim for fast times.

A gift to the Gael Athletic Fund directly benefits Saint Mary's student-athletes, allowing them the opportunity to attain an education guided by our Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions. Click the link for more information.
