TRK | Saint Mary's Posts Top Times At SFSU Distance Carnival

SAN FRANCISCO — The Saint Mary’s men’s and women’s track teams found success Friday and Saturday at the 10th annual San Francisco State Distance Carnival at Cox Stadium, including a new school record.

Haley Dorris set a new school record in the 5,000 meters. She finished first in her heat with a Saint Mary's program-best time of 17:04.65, placing her 27th overall. Andrea Gonzalez posted a 5:12.95 in the 1,500, finishing second in her heat with her quickest time of the year.

Raymond Boffman won his heat of the 1,500 meters. He posted a time of 3 minutes, 58.60 seconds, to finish 42nd overall. Nolan Dozier finished right behind him in 4:00.70, good for 60th overall.

Samir Habash was the Gaels’ top finisher in the highly-competitve 800-meter races on Saturday. He ran a season-best 1:56.42, placing him 47th overall. Tyler Gershman also ran a season-best in 1:59.90 (68th).

The Gaels next travel north to the Chico Distance Carnival on Friday and Saturday.
