BSB | Gaels Crush Waves On Senior Day

The Saint Mary's baseball team powered past Pepperdine on Senior Day Sunday to move one win closer to a WCC Tournament berth

AS A JUNIOR (2017): Started all 57 games in the outfield for the Gaels ... Batted .282 and led the team in triples (2) with Joey Fiske and Joe Vranesh ... Finished with a .391 slugging percentage and drew 26 walks to compliment his .370 on-base percentage … Had 17 multi-hit games with seven of those coming on three-hit games … Responsible for seven multi-RBI games and had the second longest hitting streak on team with 11 during the weeks of May 7-26 … Went 4 for 4 at San Francisco with two stolen bases and started three scoring rallies in a 5-3 victory on April 7 … Went 4 for 5 against UC Santa Barbara with two doubles and an RBI on May 9 … Second on team with 10 stolen bases and first with 16 sacrifice hits … Played hero with a walk-off sac-fly against Pacific in 3-2 win on April 23.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2016): Named a West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention ... Started in 31 games out of 44 appearances for Saint Mary’s as primarily a designated hitter … Racked up seven stolen bases over the course of the season with a season-high two coming against Navy on Jun. 4 in the NCAA Tournament … Totaled 30 hits, 16 walks, 16 RBI’s and an on base percentage of .350 … Went the whole season without recording a error … Recorded his lone triple of the season against Gonzaga on May 24 ... Joined Joey Fiske and Logan Steinberg to play summer ball on the Danville Dans in the Propect League in Illinois.

AS A FRESHMAN (2015): Made an immediate impact at shortstop and as a top of the order threat in his first year as a Gael before an elbow injury cut his season short ... Hit .345 with 20 hits, 13 runs, six RBI and five stolen bases in just 17 games (14 starts) ... Started 11 games at shortstop, three at designated hitter ... Hit safely in 12 of the 17 games he played in and collected multiple hits six times ... Enjoyed a tremendous four-game series at Utah Valley, going 9 for 21 with five runs and five RBI ... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll Bronze list for carrying a GPA between 3.00 and 3.49.

PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: Talented multi-sport athlete starred at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep in San Francisco, Calif. ... A .390 career hitter, earned All-West Catholic Athletic League first team honors as a junior and second team as a sophomore ... Missed senior year due to elbow surgery ... Was also a standout on the gridiron for the Fightin' Irish, earning all-WCAL first team honors as a junior running back ... Owns a share of the WCAL record for most touchdowns (5) and points scored (30) in a single game for his performance against Riordan on Nov. 3, 2012.
