SMCGaels.com reviews seven memorable moments and movements from the 2017 season in honor of fall practice starting on Oct. 7.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2016): Named a West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention ... Started all 58 of the games as an outfielder for the Gaels … Ended the season with 25 RBI’s and six doubles with team-highs in at bats (239) and hits (74) … Finished the year second on the team with a batting average of .310 … Scored his first triple of the season at San Diego on Mar. 18 … Earned his name as a defense player totaling only one error during the entire season … Ended the season with 147 putouts (third on the team) and a fielding percentage of .993 (tied with Ian McLoughlin for second on the team) … Lead the Gaels with 17 stolen bases out of 21 attempts with a season-high three coming in a win against Seattle University on Feb. 20 … Recorded a season-high seven putouts with two stolen bases in a victory against Santa Clara on Apr. 1 ... Played summer ball for the Danville Dans in the Prospect League in Illinois and represented SMC as a starting outfielder on the West Division in the Prospect League All-Star Game.

AS A FRESHMAN (2015): Fleet-footed center fielder made an impact right away for the Gaels as one of the team's top defensive outfielders as well as a speedy option at the plate and on the basepaths ... Appeared in44 games and started 23, hitting .218 with 19 hits, nine RBI, nine runs and three doubles ... Finished third on the team in steals with nine and was only thrown out once ... Had three multi-hit games (Seattle, CSUN, San Diego) ... Committed just one error on his way to a .982 fielding percentage ... All 23 starts came in center field ... Named to WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll Bronze list for maintaining a GPA of 3.00 or higher.

PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: Lettered three times in baseball and twice in football for Poway High in Poway, Calif. ... Had tremendous senior season, hitting .440 with a .504 on-base percentage, 55 hits, 11 extra-base hits, 12 steals, 13 RBI, 33 runs and a .987 fielding percentage in a season that yielded first team All-Palomar League and Team MVP honors ... Also enjoyed a strong sophomore campaign, hitting .325 with 12 steals and 13 RBI en route to earning Team Offensive MVP honors ... Played receiver and defensive back for the Poway football team, earning second team All-Palomar League honors at DB as a senior ... Plans to study Biology at Saint Mary's with the intention of eventually attending medical school.
