OMAHA, Neb. - Saint Mary's sophomore two-way star Kevin Milam picked up his third preseason All-American nod Tuesday ahead of the 2018 campaign, this time being named a third team preseason All-American by D1Baseball.com.

Milam was previously named a preseason All-American for the upcoming season by both Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and Perfect Game. His three preseason All-American recognitions this winter follow a freshman season last year in which he was tabbed an All-American seven times across five different media outlets. He was also named the 2017 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year and placed on both the all-WCC second team and all-freshmen team.

Milam batted .313 with 12 home runs (three grand slams), 14 doubles and 55 RBIs as a freshman in 2017. He slugged a team-high .547 and added 45 runs scored, 23 walks and a .397 on-base percentage. On the mound, Milam led SMC with 22 appearances - all in relief. He posted a 3-1 record and 2.27 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings pitched. He limited opponents to a .191 batting average while only allowing 10 earned runs.

Milam and the Gaels begin the 2018 season on Feb. 16, at Big West Conference champion Long Beach State. The Gaels' 2018 home opener will be on March 2, versus 2018 NCAA Regional participant Xavier. The Gaels host their annual First Pitch Dinner on Feb. 9, at the Blackhawk Country Club in Danville. Click here to RSVP.
