Gaels Win 15th Straight After Defeating BYU, 75-62
Chants of "Go Gaels" and "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oí, Oí, Oí" filled the energetic crowd inside McKeon Pavilion, as No. 16/18 Saint Mary's (20-2, 9-0 WCC) used a strong second half to pull away from BYU (17-5, 6-3 WCC), 75-62, on Australia Night.

Jock Landale continued to pace the Gaels to lead all players with 32 points and 14 rebounds for his 14th double-double of the year. Fellow senior Emmett Naar was the catalyst for the offense, recording his third double-double of the year with 13 points and 12 assists.

Can't Stop Jock
14 double-doubles on the season, 12 in the past 14 games, Jock Landale
continues to lead the efficient Gaels offense. His 22.9 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 65.9 percent field-goal percentage and 14 double-doubles are all tops in the WCC.

His career 62.8 percent shooting would be first in the Gaels' record for career field-goal percentage. Landale now ranks 9th in all-time scoring at 1,400 career points. Jock was named on the Wooden, Oscar Robertson, Lou Henson and Lute Olson Midseason Watch List.

Setting A New Record?
Saint Mary's now owns a 15-game win streak. The 15-game win streak is tied for the longest under Randy Bennett and in school history (15 in a row during 2008-09).

5 in a Row Over BYU
Saint Mary's has beaten BYU five consecutive times after Thursday night's victory. This is the first time in program history SMC has beaten BYU five times in a row.

Nine Straight to Open Conference
Under Randy Bennett, SMC has won at least its first 7 conference games of the season three times. The Gaels won 11 straight in 2010-11 and seven straight in 2014-15. SMC has currently won 9 in a row in 2017-18.

Home and Road Warriors
SMC has now won 14 straight home games dating back to Feb. 16, 2017. The streak is the fifth longest in program history. The Gaels have won 12 in a row on the road, the program's longest streak. SMC won nine road games consecutively from Feb. 6, 2016-Jan. 14, 2017.

Offensive Efficiency at its Finest
Saint Mary's has shot at least 50 percent from the floor in 10 out of 11 games, and 17 games overall. The Gaels lead the country in field goal percentage (52.5).

Naar Assist Watch
Naar is second all-time in the record book for assists (736). Naar is second in the country in assists per game (9.3). The senior has posted at least seven assists 19 times this season. He leads the nation in total assists (204) and was named on Lou Henson Midseason Watch List for best Mid-Major player.

About the Pilots
The Portland Pilots face their second straight ranked opponent this week after falling 95-79 at home to Gonzaga on Thursday. Freshman Marcus Shaver Jr. led the Pilots with 16 points, while senior G D'Marques Tyson added 15 off the bench.

Portland's two seniors have risen up the UP charts this season. Hartwich broke the
school career record for blocked shots earlier this year and then swatted six shots last
Saturday at LMU to become the Pilot single-season leader (59). He is leading the WCC in
blocks per game (2.7) and is second in the league in rebounds (8.8).
