SMC Game Notes

3 Quick Bites

Saint Mary's extends program record win streak to 18 games. No. 11 ranking in AP Poll is highest ever in program history.

The Gaels have won 16 consecutive conference games, tied-2nd longest active streak in the country with Louisiana in the SBC and Rhode Island in A-10 (Vermont leads with 30 in AEC).

Saint Mary's is one of just three teams undefeated on the road this season (Ohio State and Purdue).

Can't Stop Jock
16 double-doubles on the season, 14 in the past 17 games, Jock Landale continues to lead the efficient Gaels offense. His 22.8 ppg, 10.8 rpg, and 16 double-doubles are all tops in the WCC. His career 62.9 percent shooting would be first in the Gaels' record for career field-goal percentage.

Another One for Landale
Landale was named WCC Player of the Week for the 5th time this season. He needs one more to tie the all-time record:

Adam Morrison (GU, 2005-06) - 6
Bo Kimble (Loyola Marymount, 1989-90) - 6
Jock Landale (2017-18) - 5

Landale now has seven career Player of the Week honors, tied third all-time with Omar Samhan (2006-10).

Another Record Set
Through 25 games, SMC is off to its best record in program history at 23-2. The Gaels went 22-3 in 2016-17, 2011-12.

Key Takeaways on the Road
8-0 in true road games this season, SMC is winning by an average margin of 12 points. The Gaels are connecting on 54.8 percent of their field-goals and limiting the opponent to just 64.3 points per game on the road.

History Favors the Gaels Over Lions
Saint Mary's has won the last 12 meetings, and are 23-2 in the last 25 games against LMU. The last loss at LMU was back on Jan. 23, 2006 (L, 78-70).

Home AND Road Warriors
The Gaels have won 13 in a row on the road, the nation's longest streak. SMC won nine road games consecutively from Feb. 6, 2016-Jan. 14, 2017. The last time SMC lost a true road game was at Gonzaga on Jan. 14, 2017.
