Seniors Jock Landale and Emmett Naar were named 2017-18 All-WCC Men’s Basketball First Team as Landale’s talent leads the nation in Total Field-Goals made (262) while Naar is now the all-time leader in program history for assists (784).

Saint Mary’s was seeded No. 2 seven times in the last ten years heading to the WCC Championships. The Gaels hold a 14-9 record in the Quarterfinals and are 12-8 overall as the second seed in the conference tournament.

Saint Mary’s is 1-of-2 teams in the nation to rank inside the top 20 for field-goal percentage (1st, 51.6), 3-point field goal percentage (16th, 40.5) and free-throw percentage (12th, 77.6).

Broncos and the Waves In The Conference Tournament In The Last Ten Years.
The Gaels beat Pepperdine, 81-66, in the Semifinals in 2016 and in the Quarterfinals, 80-69, in 2014. Saint Mary’s took down Santa Clara, 73-64 in 2011 but fell to the Broncos 63-47 in 2007, both in the Semifinals.

Best 3-point shooting percentages?
Saint Mary’s shot over 45.0 percent in 11 or more games in the regular season. The Gaels shot a season-best 62.5 percent from beyond the arc versus Loyola Marymount on Dec. 28.

Landale In the Running for National Awards. 
Landale remains in the hunt for six national awards from his talent to his leadership on the court. Landale ranks in the Top-10 nationally in field-goals made (262), field-goal percentage (64.2), double-doubles (17) and total points (665). Landale was recently named one of the Top-10 finalists for the Citizen Naismith Trophy. He remains on the watchlist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbaar, John R. Wooden, Oscar Robertson, Lute Olson and Lou Henson awards.

About the Waves
Pepperdine is second in the conference shooting 36.4 from the 3-point field goal percentage right behind leader Saint Mary’s who is shooting 40.1 percent from beyond the arc. Ross Colbey leads the Waves and is second in conference shooting 43.0 percent from beyond the arc. Cobley also controls the Waves offense with 5.9 apg.

The Waves are shooting 44.4 percent from the field while its opponents are shooting 49.0 percent. Pepperdine is fourth in the league with a +1.4 rebounding margin as Kameron Edwards and Matthew Atewe lead the team grabbing six or more rebounds.

About the Broncos
The Broncos are shooting just 43.6 percent from the floor. Over the last four games, Santa Clara is shooting 49.0 percent from the field after hitting only 38.9 percent (63 of 162) in the previous three.

KJ Feagin is averaging 23.5 points on 52.8 percent shooting from the floor (38 of 72) in the last four games, but is nursing an ankle injury.
